Rated 4 out of 5 by candleobsessedfreak from Best Pure Jasmine Scent - Worth the Splurge Bought this maybe 5 months ago along with the Baies and Roses to "try out the the brand", and I have to say Jasmin really stands out as the best one. It's fresh, sweet, kinda creamy (but not like a generic lotion smell either) - it's smells natural and true to life. What I think really makes this worth the splurge is that you simply won't find cheaper brands that can capture the smell of Jasmine as authentically and luxuriously as Diptyque does. I'd definitely repurchase this when I find the right excuse to splurge again. Be careful though, once you've spoiled yourself with Diptyque, it's quite hard to appreciate the cheaper ones. Throw is reasonably good for a small/medium bedroom - you can definitely smell it but it's not overpowering or in your face - it just lingers in the background quietly. I've found that the longer you've been using it the better the throw gets. And even though the jar doesn't look all that big, the wax burns very slowly so you're definitely getting a decent amount of burn time from the standard-size candle. A negative for me is that it takes a realllyyyy long time for the entire top layer of the wax to liquify (much more than the supposed 1-3 hours - my experience has been closer to 4.5-5hrs and even then there might be some wax left around the sides). I think the problem is that the flame coming from just ONE wick in the middle won't give enough heat to evenly burn the wax to the sides. (The big Glasshouse ones have two wicks and those burn much better). One wick does look more elegant, and probably gives you a slower, longer burn session. Also, their candles don't come with a lid. A lid really helps to preserve the aroma and keeps dust/mildew out of the wax, and Mecca doesn't sell these candle lids (the Diptyque ones cost around $30). So my Jasmin candle has had a bit of dust/soot in it and that changes the color of the wax slightly. But that's just me having candle OCD. So there are minor frustrating aspects about these expensive candles, but overall I still think they are worth a try if you're looking for something special. Especially Jasmin, the scent is really something special and one cut above the $40 candles (well they'd better be, at $87 a pop).

Rated 5 out of 5 by snapper88 from Wonderful scent. Soft and dreamy. Soft gently scent, that reminds me of my holidays. I use Jasmin Diptyque Candle, in my bathroom, and most of the house, smells of beautiful Jasmin. No head aches either, which I get from most candles. Thanks Mecca, I love this candle so much, now I must have it burning everyday!

Rated 5 out of 5 by tristan1 from Beautiful scent but very overpowering. This is a beatuiful scent but somewhat overpowering. It is a true Jasmine smell. You need only burn it for a short time before it can become a bit overwhelming. If you are after something somewhat less potent but still in the floral category both Violette and Roses are stunning as are Iris and Mimosa.
