Rated 5 out of 5 by from Move over Hourglass Veil Primer, mumma's got a new favourite! I've been a fan of the hourglass veil primer for so long! Only problem I find being an oily girl and having to set down my foundation is I find sometimes I look dull and flat! So I was excited to give this a go and it did not disappoint! All the benefits of the veil primer with that added glow! I use luminous light and I love it, just be careful not to use too much product as it can ball up and flake off, directions say pea size amount which is perfect!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from A let-down from Hourglass After much success with Hourglass' Veil Mineral Primer (absolutely amazing stuff) I was thoroughly disappointed in this product. I tried this in Mood Light. At first it feels ok when applying, it spreads alright enough but just doesn't sit right. It feels heavy, not what a primer should feel like. It does have a nice shimmer to it on bare skin, though. Under makeup is where it really fails. Even with a light application of foundation (powder or liquid, I tried both) the nice shimmer turns ruddy and dirty. However the main issue I found with it is that it gathers in EVERY LINE OR CREASE YOU HAVE (and I'm only 21 so don't have many of those!). Add some foundation to the mix and you've got all your lines and creases outlined for you - great. I get what Hourglass are aiming to achieve with this primer, however it just doesn't get there.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great! But it's almost empty.. I received this in my beauty loop box and I was stoked! It makes my skin look amazing, even when I wear this alone. However I only had one use out of it as I squeezed the tube like crazy and it was pretty much empty!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from They got it right with mood light I was happy to pick up the sample as part of my beauty loop lvl 3 box and have to say this was the most surprising inclusion of the entire bunch. I had really low expectations as I'm not generally a huge fan of primers. They tend to clog up my pores and generally make life less enjoyable for me, so I was pleasantly surprised when this did very little to disrupt my sensitive fussy skin and ACTUALLY imparted a very etherial glow and "lit from within" radiance. Light formula that isn't glittery.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mood light I recieved this in my Beauty Loop Lvl3 box and tried it both with and without foundation. I must say I was pleasantly surprised to use it alone as it made my skin look like I had some sort of foundation or BB cream or something. I applied it in circular motions, thinly on top of sunscreen (To save face 50+) then set it with the new Hourglass Surreal light edit palette and it made my skin look effortlessly glowy. I just purchased a full size tube. Great for summer as it leaves no oily residue.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from AWFUL Drying and horrible, this made my skin look really ruddy instead of glowy? Worst of all, it made my foundation sit unevenly... It may be that I am just used to a more moisturising primer (I normally use Smashbox Photo Finish which is much more comfortable and functional to wear) - but if you have dry or combo skin I would stay away from this.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pleasantly Surprised I won Dim Light from Mecca on their wishing tree - a neat little pick up as I probably wouldn't have purchased this otherwise, mostly due to the mixed reviews I've seen on the internet. I am pleased to say it hasn't left me disappointed, but I would be hesitant to recommend it for fair skin. I am an NC15 for reference, and when applying Dim Light it looks like I have got a bit of a tan. It definitely gives me colour but I feel like I can JUST get away with it. Overall, I feel like it does make my foundation a little bit darker, but not to the point where it's an issue. Anyone who is paler than me may find it more problematic. On the plus side, it could be nice on its own in summer with a bit of powder over the top. I can imagine this would be great on slightly deeper tones than my self, really living up to the "Dim Light" name (on myself I would probably call it something more like "Sun Light") In terms of performance, it is fine and on par with other primers I wear (mostly Napoleon Perdis). The glow contained is subtle and carries through nicely, although it is not mega noticeable. I am certainly happy to have tried it and I will definitely be checking out the other variants next time I am in store!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A great primer I tried the mood light from my beauty loop box. I think the quality is what you'd expect from Hourglass - its good. Even when it's worn alone, it has a light coverage with a beautiful sheen and an overall glow so it's great for a lazy day.

Which shade would be best to cancel out redness?

Asked by: Grace123
I would say any of them except mood light. Luminous light if you are pale and dim light if you are tan.

What are the key differences between these primers and the Houglass Mineral Veil? Thanks :)

Asked by: StephEA
Hey :) I have this primer in Mood Light (pink hued) and the mineral veil (which I really love). They both provide a really smooth and velvet-y canvas to apply makeup on, and I'd say the key difference is that this one blurs imperfections a little bit better. But that could be due to the fact that Mood Light is slightly tinted whilst the mineral veil goes on almost clear. Hope this helps! Instagram @beautloves
