Store Manger MECCA Maxima
My position:

As typical day for me would include setting my team up for success by focusing them on a goal and making sure everyone is feeling positive and energetic. I work with my Assistant Store Manager and Store Operations Specialists to make sure the store is fully equipped for day to day trade as well as exciting in-store events that pop up on our calendar. I concierge customers around the store and schedule their appointments with artists to ensure the flow of the store runs as smoothly as possible and customers have the ultimate experience.

My journey:

After finishing my Makeup Certificate I immediately set my sights on MECCA. During my induction training I really felt a connection with the brand and its incredible values - I knew this was the place for me. I started as a casual Store Host at the MECCA Maxima Highpoint store and my main responsibilities were makeup applications and ensuring all customers looked and felt their best. Within a year I was promoted to the Assistant Store Manager Position and that’s’ where my management journey begun. My role as a leader developed greatly as I took on a Store Manager position in the beautiful MECCA Maxima store in Doncaster, ultimately preparing me for my current role as Store Manager in MECCA Maxima Melbourne Central, Victoria’s flagship Maxima store.

My department:

Being in Retail Management It’s all about the customers and the store. My Assistant Store Manager and I guide and support our gorgeous team of 35 beauty junkies to ensure they are fully trained and equipped to deliver exceptional customer service, whatever it takes! I report directly to the Regional Sales Manager, working in conjunction with all other Victorian Store Managers. We have created a fantastic internal network where we all work towards the common goal of becoming the ultimate beauty destination in Australasia

What I love most about working with Mecca Brands:

The most rewarding part of my job is seeing the success of my team members as they grow and develop within their own roles and move on to the next exciting challenge in the business. MECCA has exposed me to experiences I never dreamed would be possible, the highlights of my career most definitely include; breakfast with Josie Maran, an incredible artistry workshop with Mr Nars himself and a Master class with Lori Taylor and Davis Factor of Smashbox.

What does work-life balance mean to you, and how do you achieve this balance:

When managing a large team I find it essential to maintain a healthy work life balance. I organise my time wisely in store to ensure my tasks are completed on time and within work hours so I can make the most of my free time after hours.

My top tips for looking and feeling your best:
  1. Blow waving my hair with Bumble and Bumble products

  2. A killer skincare regime

  3. A healthy looking tan (without the sun of course)
